Dear
Friends,
I
recently received a letter with $5.00 and a note
of apology that the donor could not give
more. No one should ever feel that what they
have to give is not enough -- your drop in the all
important bucket is what keeps us energized!
Animal Lifeline's own lifeline is created by a
compilation of $5.00 donations, collections of
food and collars, items brought in to sell at the
store, and countless volunteer hours.
We
are thankful for every donation, and none is too
small. Every day, I am amazed by the
camaraderie we have developed with so many rescues
and shelters, veterinarians, and concerned
citizens. We come from different
backgrounds, financial situations and life
experiences to create a grassroots force to be
reckoned with. We should be proud of all we
have accomplished together!
We
will celebrate those accomplishments and the 1st
Anniversary of the Animal Lifeline Thrift Shop at
"Canines on the Catwalk" on March 14th. Can
you believe it's been almost a year since we
opened the door to our store? I am so
looking forward to seeing everyone and spending an
afternoon celebrating the successes and animal
lives we have saved during the last
year!
We
invite you to come to enjoy the afternoon with us
on March 14th! If you haven't had the
chance
to purchase your "Canines on the Catwalk" tickets
yet, try to do that soon so we know how many seats
we still need to fill. If we have to do
additional advertising to fill the house, we want
to get started on that ASAP!
Please
know that I might not always have a chance to say
thank you as you catch me on the fly, but I am
always thankful for all that you do to help make
Animal Lifeline possible!
Yours
in Rescue,
Denise

We are no longer accepting advertising
submissions for the program booklet, so
now it's
time to focus on the
next phase of our fundraiser
preparation...
SILENT AUCTION
DONATIONS!
We are
thrilled about the FABULOUS submissions we have
already received for the silent auction portion of
our biggest fundraiser of the year! But we
really want to WOW the crowd and present lots of
options in all price ranges, so please help us
fill all our auction tables!
We can
work just about anything you could donate into a
nicely presented basket: gift certificates for
restaurants, classes or services; artwork;
jewelry; sporting event tickets; pet supplies;
vacation property getaway; gift items; gardening
items; coffee table books...
No item is too
big or too small...if one person donates
pet-sitting services and another person donates a
collar and leash, we can bundle them
together. One person donates a bottle of
luxury skin cream and one donates a spa gift
certificate and we're on our way to creating a
basket! One person donates a bottle of
champagne and someone else supplies a box of
chocolates and we're in business! Car
detailing products paired with oil change
certificates?...BASKET!
You get the idea.
Think about what you can add to our exciting
silent auction presentation and contact Dr. Lindsay Knight if
you have a question. Auction items can be
dropped off at her dental office at 407 N. Main
Street in Doylestown, across the street from
Wendy's and the Farmhouse Tavern. Someone is
usually in the office 8AM-6PM, Monday -
Friday.
SILENT
AUCTION ITEMS WILL BE ACCEPTED
UNTIL WEDNESDAY, MARCH 3.
After that date, the
list of donors will be sent to the printer and
basket creation will begin in earnest! With
your help, we look forward to presenting a really
spectacular
auction!
Thank you!

NECESSITIES! |
|
We need dry & canned cat food donations --
there is very little on hand right now for rescues who
stop by for
supplies.
In the store, we could use toilet paper (or
grocery store gift cards to buy toilet paper), and some
Staples gift cards would be great; we're going to need
register tape and replacement supplies for our pricing
guns soon.
As
always, thank you
for continuing to provide much-needed
supplies!

Have a few
extra hours a week? a month? We could use your help at the
Animal Lifeline Thrift Shop!
So many of our dedicated volunteers
are spending time listing items on eBay, fundraising,
and organizing classes that they haven't been able to
spend as many hours at the store. We need to see some
fresh faces! There are lots of ways to help:
- run the register
- stock shelves and hang clothes
- create merchandise displays
- vacuum & dust
- care for cats-in-residence
- shuttle cats to the vet's office
- take home a load of laundry
- organize the office
- answer & return phone calls
- research merchandise prices
THERE IS ALWAYS
SOMETHING TO DO AT THE ANIMAL LIFELINE THRIFT SHOP, and
many hands make light work, so if you have a few hours,
we'll take 'em! We have volunteers that come in
almost every day, volunteers that come in a few days a
week, and volunteers that come in once a month.
Give us a call at 215-343-5050, contact Laurie, or just drop by if you'd like
to try volunteering at the Animal Lifeline Thrift
Shop! |

Help us find
homes for our new feline friends!
As we've said in the past, we
never intended to house rescue animals at the Animal
Lifeline Thrift Shop. But sometimes, we have a few
friends in need who have to hang with us for a
while...and this is one of those times!
We need
to get back to focusing on retail and generating money
for rescue efforts, so please help us find homes for
these sweet kitties!
   Come in to
the store during our regular hours to see Leon, Chloe & Bella! |
Meet
VELKIE!
Velkie is a
Beagle/Dachshund mix (could there be some Basset in
there, too?) -- she's not going to win any beauty
contests, but she doesn't have a mean bone in her body!
Velkie is very mild mannered and has a super
temperament.
Velkie is 1 - 2
years old and weighs in at about 20-25 lbs. She is
crate-trained and housebroken. She's good with other
dogs, cats and children and walks beautifully on a
leash. She'd make a wonderful companion dog for someone
who likes to go for walks, enjoys moderate exercise and
wants a close buddy.
Velkie will be very
loving and dedicated to the human who gets to take her
home. If you think that human could be you, check out
Velkie's Petfinder page to see more information,
photos and video of this special dog!
